Design & Development

7449.jpgRationalizing the production process within the manufacturing workplace is the major perennial topic.
Producing equipment of the kind that already exists is of limited value in the struggle to win and survive in the intense competition over speed, quality, price and every other aspect of production. There is no alternative but to overcome conventional thinking and streamline the way one does things, and to develop new devices that also overcome conventional thinking. Creating machines that have hitherto never existed means that development designs are entirely made to order.
Even the drawing of a single line on paper is a scene of extravagant creation requiring thorough research and a change in thinking and involving much difficulty. Speed, cost, safety, originality… the development of a single item of equipment represents a quest for a surprising number of performance attributes.
But for the designer, it is clear what functions should take priority no matter what he is dealing with. They are: stable functionality and ease of maintenance. However new may be the technology it embodies, if a product shows a lack of consideration for the people who will be using it, it will not live out there at the work-face
We have learned many lessons from experience at the workface. It is this that adds up to that “something different” that raises our design capability to the ultimate.

Parts Manufacturing

7401.jpgPrecisely because a spare part is small, we are committed to not neglecting it. This is because even the most modern machinery can fail to work if one “small part” is missing.
There is truth in the saying that parts machined by computer technology are not necessarily accurately made. So, what can offer greater accuracy? It is none other than the exhaustively honed skill of the technical expert that can leap over what was thought to be an insurmountable wall of numbers. The sensitivity that can detect a variance of five thousandths of a millimeter, and the skill to eliminate minute differences. It is certainly nothing so vague as intuition. What makes possible accuracy greater than that of the computer is the high aspiration to strive in one’s daily work towards a greater degree of precision.

Machine Assembly

組1.jpgWell thought-out design, precisely made parts, and assembling components that are all faultless, will not necessarily result in a good machine. The degree of tightness of a bolt can enhance or diminish a machine’s precision. In what condition will it be operated? Who will operate it? Differences in situations may be individually very slight, but little by little will change the process by which the same machine is assembled. A piece of equipment embodies a soul. Not to neglect even the slightest process in assembling a machine: these words are redolent with the pride of the honest technician. However accurate a machine, however complicated a piece of equipment may be, ultimately it is the “hand”, in other words the applied skill, of a technician that is responsible for adjusting it. A machine is the result of a relationship between creativity and human honesty. There is honesty in a machine, and it is precisely out of that honesty that the creative relationship between a machine and its makers arises.

Collaboration

8J8J4620.jpgWe do not merely solve problems presented to us by clients; we will not forget the spirit of challenge that is a unique characteristic of the technicians who create something out of nothing. That thinking is driven by the collaboration of specialists in the forefront of their field. How else could they achieve the task of making commercially viable products out of concepts and designs that embody ultimate ideals?
A high level of technological capability that is unique to Dairyu Seki, and a capacity for flexible development, play a very great part in the realization of projects.
The need for changes in thinking, for improvements in technology, for the deployment of new business strategies, is among the many things that make challenges exciting.

General Affairs

From individual components to the overall production line, handling a wide variety of products, Dairyu Seiki’s General Affairs Department’s scope of activities includes accounting, sales, as well as workplace management – all in all a range of activities comparable to the operation of an independent trading company.
Our attitude as a company, that “we will always confront the challenge of creating new machines”. does not permit a routine approach to work even in the General Affairs department. It is set up so as to ensure that not a single mistake is made whatever the circumstances, that communication with clients proceeds smoothly, and that individual job flows combine into an original system. Its streamlining and clarifying activities extend to the creation of original software programs; but of course, if the work of the company evolves, this will require new management systems to cope with the change. Creativity and ingenuity constitute a spirit that is vital in the General Affairs department also.
